Tasha’s Second Chance is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed to help provide financial assistance to animals that have life-threatening illnesses that are highly treatable in situations where pet owners can not afford the cost of emergency treatment or the pet was abandoned/relinquished and someone has taken custody of them.
Tasha’s Second Chance
Who Was Tasha?
Tasha’s Second Chance was formed in honor of a very special German Shepard named Natasha (Tasha for short), who was rescued as a puppy when she had parvo. She ended up being a very severe case requiring hospitalization for 2 weeks. Tasha developed relatively unknown severe complications during her treatment that took her months to fully recover from. Despite everything against her, she survived and thrived. Tasha touched many people’s hearts in the short 5 years she was with us. Her compassion and ability to provide emotional support to many in the veterinary community was astounding. After beating one of the most complicated cases of parvo, Tasha passed away suddenly and inexplicably after giving a life-saving blood donation. She helped save another dog’s life who was also in an abandonment situation. This was one of many other animals Tasha saved in her short life.
Tasha’s Second Chance was instituted to help give more dogs like her another chance at life despite being faced with life-threatening illnesses such as her parvo case.
