Meet the Team
Dr. Cody Daniels, Medical Director
Dr. Cody Daniels was born in east Texas, where he grew up on a ranch with cows, horses, dogs, cats, and many other animals. He developed a love of caring for animals at a young age and by primary school, he knew he wanted to be a veterinarian when he grew up. He was able to complete his undergrad and vet school education at the school of his dreams, Texas A&M University. After receiving his vet degree, Dr. Daniels was excited to obtain a position working at a Veterinary ER and referral center in East Dallas. It was there he realized his passion for emergency and critical care.
In 2013, he moved to the Mansfield area where he continued to work in Veterinary ER at a large emergency hospital and transitioned into Chief of Operations, where he found his passion extended into hospital management. In 2020, Dr. Daniels elected to leave this ER to pursue opening his own. Before opening VEHM he worked relief at nearly a dozen ER facilities in DFW gaining further experience in how different facilities run before starting his own. Despite multiple delays associated with COVID and construction issues, VEHM opened on September 10th, 2021.
Dr. Daniels’s professional interests and advanced training include soft tissue surgery, ultrasound, endoscopy, and critical care. He particularly enjoys training and mentoring veterinarians wanting to pursue a career or strengthen their skills in emergency medicine. Dr. Daniels has owned German Shepherds over his entire life. He has also fostered cats and dogs while recovering from various ailments until they found a forever home. Currently, he owns two German Shepherd Dogs, Natalie and Alexander. Both of whom were rescued due to life-threatening illnesses.
When Dr. Daniels is not working at the hospital or treating pets, he enjoys traveling, smoking bbq, and any activity on the water. He also enjoys watching Dallas Cowboys or Texas A&M football. Dr. Daniels hopes to continue expanding the reach and abilities of VEHM along with pursuing the highest standards of care for patients and clients. He strives to provide a positive work culture and promote the importance management plays in compassion fatigue in the veterinary community.
Dr. Christina Jung, DVM
Dr. Christina Jung was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. After graduating from Texas A&M University, her career journey led her to practice veterinary medicine in both Galveston and San Antonio.
Dr. Jung’s choice to become a veterinarian was driven by her deep love for animals and the challenge of medicine. She particularly enjoys her work in emergency medicine due to the constant variety she encounters. She is enjoying expanding her expertise in ultrasound skills.
In her personal life, Dr. Jung decided to move back to North Texas with her son to be closer to family. When she is not at VEHM, she enjoys spending time with her son, dog and four cats.
Dr. Leah Fancher, DVM
Dr. Leah Fancher grew up in Katy, Texas in a family of 5. Being the youngest of three and with her family’s rural background, her passion for animals began at just 5 years old. From horses to squirrels, she began to take in all sorts of animals. Given her family’s farming heritage, her grandfather was a little upset when she didn’t choose to go into large animal practice.
Dr. Fancher attended Katy High School where she participated in athletics and FFA, where she raised and showed lambs. She then went on to Texas A&M University to pursue a B.S. in Animal Science and graduated with the highest distinction, Summa Cum Laude. While attending Texas A&M’s Veterinary school, her love for emergency medicine grew and she joined the Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and she attained both RECOVER and Fear Free certifications. Her passions in practice include critical care, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Fancher became a veterinarian to not only advocate for her patients that can not speak for themselves but also to provide a source of peace and comfort for owners in their time of need.
She relocated from College Station to Mansfield with her two dogs: Nala (2 year-old rescue German Shepherd mix) and Krueger (1 year-old Doberman).
Dr. Kelly Lamarche, DVM
Dr. Kelly Lamarche is originally from Montreal, Quebec, and grew up just outside of St Louis, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Evansville in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then pursued her doctorate of veterinary medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia where she graduated in 2019.
Since obtaining her veterinary degree, Dr. Lamarche has practiced at emergency hospitals both in Texas and Missouri. She enjoys the variety and challenge of emergency medicine and has developed special interests in surgery and feline medicine.
Dr. Lamarche and her husband share their home with their orange cat, Boscoe, and hound mix, Skip.
Dr. William McLin, IV
Meet W. R. McLin IV DVM, a distinguished veterinarian with a personality as vibrant as his amazing mustache. Hailing from an Oklahoma ranch, his childhood bond with animals and nature laid the foundation for a lifelong passion in veterinary medicine.
Upon earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, Dr. McLin embarked on a multifaceted career that has showcased his diverse talents. Equine reproduction became his specialty, revolutionizing breeding practices and earning him recognition within the equestrian community. From the majestic world of horses, he ventured into the realm of small animal emergency medicine, where his expertise and compassion have brought comfort and healing to countless furry companions and their families.
Beyond his clinical endeavors, Dr. McLin has also displayed a remarkable spirit of service. Dr. McLin serves as the Assistant Fire Chief for the Elmore City Fire Department. He has participated in numerous medical mission trips to Central America, providing essential medical care to underserved communities. His dedication to improving the lives of others extends beyond borders, touching the lives of those he meets.
Yet, amidst all his achievements, Dr. McLin’s greatest treasures lie in the love he holds for his family and his unwavering faith in God. These pillars of strength ground him, shaping the man he is today – compassionate, bold, and relentless in his pursuit of making a positive impact on the world.
Dr. W R McLin’s life is a testament to the power of pursuing one’s passions relentlessly. Whether he’s at the helm of a medical mission, soaring through the sky, strumming heartfelt tunes, or comforting a distressed pet owner, his journey continues to inspire, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touches.
Dr. Emily Martin, DVM
Dr. Emily Martin hails from Sarasota, Florida. She earned her degree in Animal Science from Auburn University in 2014. She then moved to the small Caribbean island of Grenada, attending veterinary school at St. George’s University. Before graduating in 2020, she returned to Auburn to complete her clinical year studies.
Dr. Martin started her veterinary career working at a general practice in the Atlanta, Georgia, area before moving to Texas to pursue emergency medicine. Her areas of special interest include trauma surgery, wound healing, and palliative/end-of-life care.
Dr. Martin and her husband Doug live with their cat, who was adopted from Grenada, and three dogs; two Rough Collies and a Retriever mix. In her spare time, Dr. Martin enjoys fitness, horseback riding, cheering on the Auburn Tigers (War Eagle!) as well as training and showing her two collies in AKC conformation, herding, obedience, and other venues.
Dr. Angelica Marquez, DVM
Dr. Angelica Marquez graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M) degree. After finishing veterinary school, she completed a one-year small animal medical and surgical rotating internship at Oklahoma State University at the Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital which is where her burning passion for advanced imaging began. After completing her internship, Dr. Marquez moved to DFW to practice veterinary medicine.
In Texas, Dr. Marquez undertook rigorous immersion programs in abdominal ultrasound and echocardiography training. Besides diagnostic imaging, her other areas of interest include soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine/critical care, and cardiology. With her extensive training and devotion, Dr. Marquez’s goal is to provide the best quality care for her patients and deliver diagnostic images in a timely manner.
When Dr. Marquez is not at the Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Midlothian, she enjoys vegetable gardening, spending time playing Dungeons & Dragons with her friends, and walking with her dogs. She also shares her home with her two cats.
Dr. Paula Montoya, DVM
Dr. Paula Montoya is a dedicated veterinarian with a passion for animal care. She graduated vet school in 2018 and has since garnered extensive experience in both general practice and emergency medicine. Dr. Montoya proudly owned and managed her own veterinary practice before moving into emergency medicine. She had the privilege of having her practice in her hometown, an experience that deepened her understanding of the unique bond between pets and their owners. Her commitment to the well-being of animals has been a driving force throughout her career.
Beyond the hospital, Dr. Montoya finds joy in spending time with her family including her husband and their beloved dogs Limon and Pepper. Dr. Montoya also loves to hiking and playing/watching soccer in her free time.
Dr. Krista Johns, DVM
Dr. Krista Johns is a native of Grand Prairie, Texas. She earned her veterinary degree from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Her clinical interests are dentistry and internal medicine.
In her own words, “I joined veterinary medicine because I want to be able to help pets and their humans fight their toughest battles.”
At home, Dr. Johns is surrounded by her loving furry family of three dogs (Beckham, Ducky, and Sage) and two cats (Lunita and Cecilia). When she is not at VEHM, she enjoys spending her spare time lounging on the couch with her fur babies and watching Formula 1.
Dr. Alyson Childers, DVM
Say Hello to Dr. Alyson Childers. She was born and raised in Union Grove, Alabama. She graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors from Auburn University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Microbial Biology
Her love for travel brought her to Grenada, West Indies where she procured her Veterinary degree from St. George’s University with Summa Cum Laude honors. Dr. Childers completed her clinical rotations at Texas A&M University, prior to starting her career in emergency medicine in North Texas.
Dr. Childers values the unique bond between each pet and their owners, which drives her passion for veterinary medicine. Her special interests include surgery, feline medicine, and infectious disease. Dr. Childers and her husband have a full house with three dogs (Carter, Clark, and Melvin) and three cats (Mufasa, Biscuit, and Gravy). In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, watching sports, and gardening.
Cindy, Hospital Manager
Cindy is our Hospital Manager with a remarkable 26 years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine. Her journey began in New York State, where she earned her LVT (Licensed Veterinary Technician) certification, followed by an associate’s degree with a specialty in veterinary technology. Additionally, she is a Certified K Laser practitioner. One might say she’s seen it all in her long and dedicated career, and when asked why she chose this path, Cindy’s answer is deeply rooted in her love for animals and her desire to help and heal her clients’ pets. She’s passionate about making veterinary care accessible within her clients’ means, ensuring both the pets and their owners experience an improved quality of life. Cindy has been with the Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Midlothian since it opened and takes pride in the hospital’s foundation of compassion shared by the entire staff. Everyone is committed to making every patient as comfortable as possible, regardless of the outcome.
Cindy lives in Midlothian and spends her time outside of work with her family and a menagerie of pets. In her spare time, she indulges in her passions for crafting, reading, and the outdoors, (as long as it’s not the scorching summer season). A testament to her character, Cindy often shares two simple yet profound quotes: “just keep swimming” and “be kind – you never know what the other person has been dealing with.” In Cindy Serrano’s life and career, these words exemplify her dedication to the welfare of both people and animals.

Dana, Finance Manager
Dana is the Finance Manager at Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Midlothian. Dana earned a business degree from Texas A&M University, graduating with distinction. She has spent the past 8 years of her career in the veterinary industry. Dana’s favorite aspect of her role is the privilege of seeing their furry patients under the care of skilled and compassionate professionals, knowing that each one is in good hands.
When she’s not managing the financial aspects of VEHM, Dana can be found traveling, reading, or crafting. If she were to embody the qualities of a pet, she’d opt for the simplicity and joy of being a dog, relishing the good things in life such as delicious food and quality time with her loved ones.
Dana cherishes a beautiful piece of advice: “The best things in life are the people you love, the places you’ve seen, and the memories you’ve made along the way.” Her commitment to VEHM is fueled by the opportunity to be part of a dedicated team of passionate, compassionate, and skilled individuals who work together seamlessly to provide top-notch care to their patients and clients.

Anna, Lead Veterinary Technician
Anna, one of our accomplished lead veterinary technicians, brings an impressive 16 years of experience to our team. Anna’s favorite aspect of her role at VEHM is expanding her knowledge to facilitate being a better nurse, and advancing her skill set. She is also passionate about sharing her knowledge with others, and she is inspired by watching them grow into even better versions of themselves.
Outside of work, Anna’s interests include reading, quality time spent with her partner and their trio of dogs, as well as hanging out with her friends. When asked what kind of animal she would be, her answer was a Norwegian Forest cat because of its independence, affection towards a few, playfulness, uniqueness, intelligence, and curiosity.
What Anna loves about working at VEHM is the exceptional teamwork she experiences, “…the way we are able to perform great patient care and have a great time doing it. We have a great staff of clinicians and support staff”.

Meagan, Lead Veterinary Technician
Meagan, our brightest Lead Veterinary Technician at VEHM, started working in a veterinary EC/ICU back in 2016, and is RECOVER CPR certified. There’s an endless list of reasons she enjoys her job, making it hard to pick a favorite, but a top inspiration for her is neonatal resuscitation during a c-section
Outside of work, she spends a lot of time at home with her two cats, and enjoys making the occasional fun run to Target, or taking advantage of some down time with reality TV. When asked what breed of dog or cat she would be, she responded with a tortoiseshell cat, because “ I love naps and only appreciate attention when it’s exclusively on my terms. And I like to be free fed”
Her favorite quote to pass along is: “It’s absurd to divide people into good and bad. People are either charming or tedious” – Oscar Wilde.
Jimmy, Lead Veterinary Technician
Jimmy has dedicated himself to the well-being of pets for most of his career, and brings 19 years of experience in veterinary emergency and general practice medicine to VEHM. He enjoys helping pets recover and offering families peace of mind, especially during after-hour emergencies. Jimmy believes that every role in veterinary medicine, regardless of size, plays a vital part in the overall care of animals.
Outside of work, he cherishes spending quality time with his family and enjoys trying out new restaurants. When asked which pet he’d be, Jimmy said he identifies with a Jack Russel Terrier because they are small and feisty, but very loyal.
What Jimmy values most about his position at VEHM is the unwavering commitment to prioritizing patient care while fostering a warm family atmosphere.
Meredith, Lead Veterinary Technician
Meredith serves as the Lead Veterinary Technician at the Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Midlothian. Originally hailing from Kentucky, Meredith relocated to Midlothian eight years ago to be closer to her partner’s family.
Meredith’s journey into the veterinary industry began with a deep-seated love for animals. She started her career in shelter medicine in 2016 before transitioning to her first emergency room role in 2018. Her passion for helping animals stems from the profound satisfaction she feels when alleviating their pain and suffering. Meredith believes that animals, unlike humans, don’t understand why they are ill or in pain, and it is immensely fulfilling for her to provide them with the care and relief they need.
Meredith knew she was in the right profession from her very first day in the field. Despite the challenges and difficult days, she cannot imagine herself in any other career.
Outside of work, Meredith enjoys a fulfilling personal life with her partner of ten years, Sarah, and their seven beloved furkids, which include three dogs and four cats. Meredith’s hobbies include painting, reading, and spending quality time with her pets. She also loves kayaking and embracing the great outdoors, which provide a perfect balance to her dedicated and compassionate work life.
D’ante, Veterinary Technician
D’ante first began working as a veterinary technician in 2011. His love for animals and watching Animal Planet as a child played a big role in his passion for veterinary medicine. D’ante enjoys working in the ER because of the changing pace, with each day being different. He also takes on additional responsibilities outside of his typical role, helping with various tasks around the clinic.
D’ante is a Native born Texan with a family military background. He enjoys traveling, bowling, gaming and watching Animal Planet with his wife, 4 kids and 3 dogs. D’ante particularly enjoys the work culture we have, the compassion we provide, and being able to educate our clients and train people who have a desire to learn.

Nadiah, Veterinary Technician
Nadiah is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) and serves as an ICU Technician at the Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Midlothian. She entered the veterinary industry in 2018, and her favorite part of the job is the heartwarming moment when a pet can be sent home after nursing them through their illness, knowing they’ve been given a second chance at a healthy life.
Outside of work, Nadiah enjoys unwinding by playing PC games with friends. If she were to step into the paws of a cat, she’d choose the regal Maine Coon, drawn to their elegance and love for cuddling—a life that sounds like the feline version of paradise.
Nadiah’s dedication to her role at VEHM is driven by the camaraderie of her coworkers and their exceptional teamwork. Their collaborative spirit not only creates a positive work environment, but also elevates the quality of patient care. Nadiah thrives in the fast-paced world of the emergency room, where her passion for helping pets feel better can be fulfilled.

Ashley, Veterinary Technician
Ashley began working in the veterinary field immediately after high school. While gaining experience she continued her education in medical assisting, graduating with an impressive 4.0 GPA. She has also earned certifications in phlebotomy, ECG and laser therapy. Ashley has found her passion working with animals and their owners, finding fulfillment in the continuous learning opportunities and the rewarding growth in patient care that the veterinary field offers.
What Ashley values the most about her role at VEHM is the incredible team she is a part of: “our job is hard but it isn’t very often you get to work with people who genuinely care about our patients’ level of care and each other’.
Beyond her professional life, Ashley treasures spending quality time with her family. She firmly believes that everything in life happens for a reason, and that no matter what challenges come her way, she has the resilience to overcome them. If she could be any pet, she would be a Boxer, as she is serious at times, but mostly she really just enjoys making people laugh and becoming great friends.

Garret, Junior Veterinary Technician
Garrett is one of our Junior Veterinary Technicians, having spent the last 2 ½ years in the veterinary field. Garrett started out as a receptionist with no prior experience, but after working and discovering a passion for learning about the veterinary field, he became a technician 2 years later, and is currently in school to get his LVT certification.
Outside of work, Garret’s interests include baking and art. When asked what kind of dog or cat he would be, he answered “any breed of cat”, because, “I feel cats can do whatever they want and get away with it.”
Garrett enjoys working at VEHM because he truly believes that we are practicing great medicine, and care about pets and their owners. His best advice is to “take your time in this field, be patient.” because, “being a great technician takes time.” His favorite part of the job is learning about all the ways we help and heal pets.
Abby, CSR Manager
Abby is the CSR Manager at the Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Midlothian. She has lived in Texas since 1998, residing in north Fort Worth before moving to Midlothian in 2017. Abby joined the veterinary field driven by her love for animals and quickly grew passionate about aiding pet parents and serving as a crucial liaison between clients, technicians, and doctors.
Her journey in veterinary medicine began at her family’s veterinary practice, but her passion truly flourished when she transitioned to Emergency Medicine. A defining moment in her career was during her first week in the ER when a heat stroke case came in. Witnessing the team’s immediate and coordinated effort to save the pet’s life confirmed her calling in the field.
Outside of work, Abby enjoys a fulfilling family life with her spouse, two children, and a bonus kid who spends summers with them. In her spare time, she loves reading, cooking, baking, and attending plays or musicals.
